  • Eyelets for RDII

    Gents,
I wanted to make button eyelets for buttons on the front of a RD II coat. Small round holes running down the front of the coat which will hold the button with a piece of linen. I've seen them on a Federal Sack coat but haven't seen any on CSA jackets. As anyone seen them on any CSA jackets? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: Eyelets for RDII

I've seen it on a couple homemade/tailor made Confederate garments, but never on a government issue piece (yet). A much more common method of attaching buttons (and something almost never seen on reproductions) involves sewing the buttons to the jacket front and interfacing before the interior facings/lining is applied.
