  • New Blog on Richmond Uniforms

    CSA Uniform Buffs,

I am slowly adding articles to my website: http://www.adolphusconfederateunifor...form-blog.html It is a tedious process, but the second one is up and running on the blog page. The blog has skads of images, so enjoy.

    More on the way...

    Fred,

excellent article and a couple images that I have not seen before. From the research that has Kershaw's brigade in BGK richmond jackets at GBurg and all the accounts of the rest of Longstreets corps getting them enroute to Chickamauag, coupled with the photographic evidence from the Alsop and around Petersburg in April of '65, a BGK type II is a fairly versatile jacket.

      Bryant,
I'm interested in the information re. the BGK jackets worn by Kershaw's men at Gettysburg. Could you elaborate on that or direct me to the study?

        Adam,
I'm going to have to do some digging and asking of some pards, but some folks I trust on this have the research on it.

            Adam,

I'd do a search on Kershaw's/Chick as there have been numerous excellent threads on this topic. Research has really yeilded some great information on this. Withing the last year, there have been not one but two SC ID'd kersey Type IIs that have surfaced here in SC. The SCCRR&MM are the recipients of one; machine sewn to boot!
