Tomahawks Used During the War?

I have researched this matter but have come up empty. Why are there no photos or records of any soldiers on either side carrying and using fighting Tomahawks during the war? They were used extensively during the American Revolution and even during The War Of 1812 but I can find no notations of there use during the Civil War. Anyone have any true information on this subject? It would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes the lack of something is something in itself.
