    Dan, thanks for the explanation as I just got home from dinner.

    Pete, you are correct in your assessment of your two blankets' selvages. Now you have the "eye."

    Like Jurgela before me, I have all of these blankets in my collection in addition to some originals. It was the only way for me to learn first hand. Some day when I have some time, ha!, I intend to post pics of every blanket mentioned and some others and some originals with specs on all like the very old Watchdog article on 3-4 reproduction blankets from long ago. It will be some time as I spend most of my time these days organizing events. Hope this info is helpful. Now we need a price on the Abe Thomas blanket that started this thread and someone needs to buy that fine blanket.

      This thread is being started to cull the good information that came from this "For Sale" thread for what was believed to be a reproduction of the blanet that belonged to "Auggie" Weissart in the collection of the Wisconsin Veterans' Museum.
