  • Looking for Zouave Jambieres

Our Texas unit's galvanizing impression has been the 165th NY - a Zouave regiment that fought in Louisiana in '63 and '64. We began the impression for the 140th Port Hudson anniversary event, and have kept it going for 8 1/2 years now. In the iniitial outfitting, Phil Cavanaugh, owner of the Haversack Depot made great lamb's leather jambieres (the leather legging that is laced up and worn over the white canvas one from the knee to the bottom of the calf) for some of us. Phil is mostly retired now and no longer makes them. We have some newer fellows who have joined and outfitted themselves as Zouaves except for the Jambieres, and we don't know where to send them. I've searched the web following up every google lead, to no avail. So, my question is does anyone have a source for leather Zouave jambieres?

RL Kelly & SA Miles Co. also make really nice leather jambières.

Here are some photos of the jambières: Zouave Jambieres & Canvas Leggings by RL KELLY & SA MILES Co.

Thanks Gents, I've looked at Shane Miles Facebook album and sent him a message of inquiry. I'll also follow up with Nic Duvall.
