I did some searching on the forum, and couldn't find any reference to this site, so I thought I would share. It is called "Civil War in the American South."
It contains links to numerous diaries, letters, broadsides, etc. that are held in libraries and colleges throughout the country. Many have been digitized, and can be read in full. If you click on the "collection home" tab underneath each item, it will bring you to the digital items. One example is the diary of Cyrus F. Jenkins, 13th Georgia, Co. B found in the Library of Georgia.
It contains some great accounts of some of the early war battles that occurred in Western Virginia. I have found them to be a great resource for building one's impression. It takes some digging, but you can find some great things.
