  • Ordnance Records of the Adams/Gibson Louisiana Brigade, Army of Tennessee

This will be a bit of an ongoing project, so bear with me. I plan on doing each regiment from the brigade. We'll start with a couple of nifty little reports from October of 1862 from the acting brigade ordnance officer.

CSR of Lt. G. Cammack, acting brigade O.O.

Ordnance Stores turned over to O.O. at Knoxville TN, Oct. 26th 1862

    1 Belgian Rifle, Repairable
    2 Enfield Rifles (long), ""
    2 Mississippi Rifles, ""
    22 Improved Muskets, ""
    22 Altered Muskets, ""
    6 Long Enfield Rifles, ""
    33 Percussion Muskets ""

Ordnance Stores On Hand and Issued Oct 27th 1862 at Knoxville TN

On Hand for 1547 Privates, NCO, and Musicians

    1364 Cartridge Boxes
    1320 Waist Belts
    1242 Cap Boxes
    852 Canteens & Straps
    769 Knapsacks
    626 Haversacks
    1175 Bayonet Scabbards

    To be issued:

    120 Enfield Rifles
    35 Percussion Muskets
    53 Cartridge Boxes
    107 Waist Belts
    175 Cap Boxes
    695 Canteens and Straps
    820 Knapsacks
    946 Haversacks
    242 Bayonet Scabbards

I want to make a note stating that around this time Knoxville was getting much of it's stores from Richmond, so theoretically you could see alot of "eastern" C.S. equipment show up in the AoT around this time.

    Next up.....13th Louisiana Infantry
