  • canteen stopper

    Hello,

I just purchased a Axel Ulrich Federal smoothside canteen and am in need of a canteen stopper. I have been through the Approved Vendor list to no avail. Can anyone suggest a correct stopper and where I may procure one?

    Re: canteen stopper

    G´Day,
well... is it an early war canteen ? then you´ll be in need of a "long stopper". Do not know where to get one :-(
If you need a stopper for the timeframe, let us say End of 1862 till 1865 ...
contact Dan Wambaugh or even better (cause he has a lot of different depot-versions) the
man who must not be named from New Jersey N... .ekala.

Suggestion: just whittle your own stopper from a piece of wood. These types of things were lost all the time by troops, so "necessity was the mother of invention."
