They look good! Out of curiosity, which one did you do first in the pictures?

I agree. Good instructional thread, boys, and Tyler your work is nothing to sneer at, I think!

          Tyler:
Looking closely at your pics, it looks like you used some sort of twist yarn. If so, I doff my hat to you!
I had to put about 15 yards of similar stuff on a coat for an early War of 1812 impression… Holy Cow, that stuff is tougher to use that the metallic braid you see in my pics on this thread! You must be a glutton for punishment!!

Re: CS Bling - Adding Sleeve Braid

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the compliments!

For the braid I used two strand, worsted wool cord that is 3/16” in diameter. It was pretty tough to find the right the right cord but was eventually given a lead and was able to find it at Needle and Thread. I think I could have jumped behind the counter and hugged Darlene when she pulled that stuff out from under the counter!

The sleeve on the right is the one that I did first. I think I have about 11-12 hours in that one and about eight hours on the left.

Having never done a project like this before I honestly would have thought that the cord would be easier to attach that the metallic trim. Glad to know that the worst is behind me!
