  • WA black cotton cap

It was a toss up between the military or the civilian thread for this, but since it was worn by a member of the Wash. Artillery, I'm posting it here in the military thread: The black cap, worn by a Lt. in the Wash. Artillery, has a caption stating that it is made from black cotton. Has anyone actually seen this cap in person? What kind of cotton? Cotton plain weave? Cotton denim, cotton drill, canvas . . .? And, a cap like that worn by that member of the Washington Arillery was a civilian style cap (which is why I didn't know if this question should be posted here, or in the civilian thread), so are any of you famliar with other caps like this and of what material they were made from?
