Vest material

In EoG there are 2 white officer's vest, Capt Pierece and Maj Linton. Does anyone know what fabric these are made from. I would like to recreate one of them for my impression.

One vest I have studied that was worn by a Federal officer was whitish linen with hapf inch general service eagle buttons, cotton drill backing, light weigh cotton sheeting for the lining.
