Pedersoli Model 1841 rifle

Has anyone handled the new Pedersoli Mississippi rifle?

Mr. Barry did an excellent write up on the Pederoli Enfield and gave it high marks. I'm curisous if they did as well on the new Model 1841 as far as wood, metal and replicating original markings.

Don't know if anyone has done a write up on a Pedersoli Miss or not. theydon't look any different thyan the Euroarms did in their pics. Wish they would make one of the Mod 41s with some, or one of the later long range versions. That would be real nice.

I have seen that thread. At least pedersoli put some cartouches on it., but it is still just the early basic version, with the tombstone rear sight, altho the lock mechanism, and barrel should be better, functually.

Its good to know that you are still kicking! The hammer off set is a worry, but the Pedersoli still looks a 100% better than what Euroarms was making. I wonder if they have improved the barrel contour as they have on the their repro M61s and P53s.

Sorry to resurrect a thread from almost four years ago, but I am interested in the .54 caliber Pedersoli Model 1841. They also make a .58, and I doubt there is a difference in the stocks but there's no telling. Anyway, I am short of stature by today's standards (probably about average for mid 19th century), and I would like to know the length of pull on the current .54 Pedersoli Mississippi Rifle. If you have one of these rifles, would you mind laying a tape on it, and advise me of the LOP?

I don't have an original Mississippi rifle for comparison, but the original 19th century military long arms I have measured seem to be generally around 13-3/8" to 13-1/2",which is very comfortable for me. The Italian Springfield repros seem accurate in this respect. However, the industry standard 14" LOP on most blackpowder sporting longarms is a wee bit too long for me, especially for live fire with ball. That half inch does make a difference.

Anyway, if somebody would measure the LOP on the current Pedersoli M1841 in .54 caliber, I would appreciate it. I would also be interested in the LOP of an original M1841, if you have one available.
