    Adam,

    That is an unbelievably find and in superb condition. Was also cool to see the battles posted later on that the jacket/unit had been involved with.

      Be really interesting to know when he wore the coat. The state seal buttons MAY indicate early usage, but he may have removed the buttons from an old garment and put them on a new garment. Looks like 2 different materials for the lining.

        Gents-

        I found this document dated May 10, 1861 and believe it relates to the very same man who owned this jacket. Mr. Young is listed as #9 in the document. Apparently he belonged to a militia company (The Davis Guards) that became a part of the 12th Georgia Infantry. Anyway I thought it would flesh out his story.
