I just have a question on where would be the best place to get my 42 Springfield defarbed to a harpers ferry manufactured stamped musket. it is just a question I have seen so many places out there and don't know what one would do the best job defarbing the gun.

You can always check with Todd Watts at BR for a start.

No disagreement with Todd Watts, but there's also John Zimmerman who does his work in Harpers Ferry.

I can 2nd Lodgewood. My '42 was changed to a HF by James River Armory. I know they don't do defarbs anymore but they may restamp your lockplate since they have the stamp. After that, just get the rest defarbed elsewhere.
