  • 7th New Jersey Gaiters

Hey guys. I am trying to get some information on the 7th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry. I have read that Company A was issued gaiters in "62"(Give it to them Jersey Blues, Hayward). I also read that In Feb. "63" the III corps would be issued canvas gaiters(Regiments & Uniforms, Troiani). Im interested in knowing for sure if Company D was issued them at any time during the war. How do I get that information? Thanks

Don Troiani did a painting of the 7th. It shows them wearing a frock coat, forage cap, sky blue trousers, and army of Potomac styled gaiters. It is supposed to represent them in 1863 just before Chancellorsville.
