  • Cartridge box markings ??

Found this marking on the inside of the outer flap of a March, 1864 pattern box. Any one know what it may stand for or have seen one similarly marked?
    The marking is "S.C.N.".

    Re: Cartridge box markings ??

It's not a contractor marking, which were stamped in the leather usually on the outer flap or inner flap. The only references I could find to S.C.N. were the initials of an individual's name.
