How close is the reproduction Mississippi Rifle barrels to the originals? I'm guessing they aren't close but I was curious if anyone knew for sure. Thanks for the help.

    Hallo!

    Short answer:

Not very much. (So as not be interchangeable, or the older ones with patent breeches and no breech plugs not so desirable) .)

      Curt,

Thanks for the feed back. I have an extra 1842 Springfield barrel and the tang actually would work with a little filing. The tang screws nails the hole, but the breech is a bit big. I was thinking of maybe getting it lined, but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a custom barrel for it. Thanks again for the help.
