Besides rounders and cards, does anyone know any other games soldiers would play while in camp? Also anyone know what original poker chips might have looked like ?

Re: Past times
Dominoes, checkers, and chess were common. Period sets are often found in a small wooden box, though carrying them in a poke sack for ease of transport in your pack would be equally effective.
Newspapers, even if slightly out-of-date were sought after items, books were shared, and a few parlor games were also played. There is an article written on the subject of games and past times as well as examples of same on the Ragged Soldier Sutler web site.
I don't have an answer for the poker chip question. I do know that cribbage was also popular, utilizing cards and dice.Ivan Ingraham
