    Re: Pedersoli Lorenz

I paid $650 for an original, and i had to restore the middle band as it was missing. Still,a nice piece for the price. A repop would give peace of mind when firing than an original that has probably been tinkered with over the past 150 years. Mine was and I will not even use it for blank firing.Click image for larger version

I spoke to a rep at Dixie gun works they said there will be a prototype at Shot Show in January. So we'll be able to see what it looks like soon

Nothing on D Pedersoli website yet. Shot Show in Vegas is still about four days off though.

I have been keeping an eye on this myself. I will be anxious to see the results once this is made public.

Very nice collection, John. I have been tempted to get more than one Lorenz. Something about muskets is addicting! I have too many already.

Dixie didn't have much of an idea. I contacted Pedersoli personally on Facebook and he said they would be showing the rifle in Germany in March and "production will start around summer".

If there is money in it, it will happen. If they're decent reproductions these are going to sell, at least for a while until everyone who wants a M54 Austrian Rifle repro has one. Pedersoli is famously slow and haphazard about adhering to any kind of firm schedule around introducing a new model. The Enfield was around a year behind it's first new model introduction date. But when it came out, it was very good. So, if I'm reading this right, it will be mid-year?

Keep the faith everyone. I asked Balázs Németh, who owns Capandball Firearms Store in Hungry and is a Pedersoli distributor for Central Europe, about the release date. He told me Perderoli will release their M1854 Lorenz re-pop soon. In the meantime, here's something to tide you over: Balázs' cool history / shooting / loading video about the Lorenz and its unique compression bullet.
