Hallo!
By the Manual, P1839 and P1857.... 55.5 inches long, by 2.25 wide (2.0 for the Pattern of July 1864), with billets for buckles 4.25 inches long and .0875 wide.
A number of originals are found with 1.9 inch wide slings/belts that same as waist belts and likely was a contractor/maker expedient given a blind eye by inspectors. (And more or less became "official" with the Pattern of 1864's 2.0 narrow shoulder belt.)
