I was looking to re-read Geoff Walden's Columbus Depot Jacket Article, but the link on this forum is gone. Cannot find it through an internet search. Would someone have a link to the article or is it a dead subject?

I possess a hardcopy of the article from the old Third Mississippi Camp of Instruction (1998). As the pictures are photocopies of photocopies, the quality of the pictures is not so good.
The Third Mississippi manual has many solid articles. The one which precedes it in the manual is Les Jensen's articles on depot jackets. Here's the link to the one which discusses CD, Alabama, and other nonANV jackets :

And finally, at the bottom of this page are some images I believe were employed on Mr. Walden's Columbus Depot jacket article. I believe the bottom-most image is the Atkins jacket, 49th Tenn., worn at Franklin, with the hard-rubber buttons:

Here's an interesting image, by Samuel J. Reader of the 2nd Kansas Militia (US), of one of Sterling Price's buglers at the Battle of Mine Creek, Kansas, wearing what appears something like the "Columbus" depot jacket, or what Mr. Walden preferred to call the western army jacket; at least in the depiction of the branch-trimmed cuff, etc. The image is one of many interesting one made by Reader, in the collections of the Kansas Historical Society.
