  • Stuff worn on the right or the left?

I’m having trouble figuring out we’re my accoutrements bed roll canteen and haversack go was there a preference or was it up to the soldier?

    Hi Christian,

Start with your cartridge box over your left shoulder so it hangs at your right hip. Then your belt with the cap pouch to the right of your belt buckle and the bayonet at your left hip. Then your haversack over your right shoulder so it hangs at your left hip. If you have a bedroll, then put than on over your left shoulder, leaving your right shoulder free to seat your musket for firing. Finally, your canteen over your right shoulder and hanging over your left hip. This makes it easier to fill it up without taking everything else off. So you will notice that nothing interferes with you reaching for ammunition from your cartridge box.

The bedroll can be put on both ways...
