  • Who sells a good quality pair of piped infantry officer's trousers?

    Pards,

I am looking for a good pair of infantry officer's trousers in sky blue. I will be using them for ceremonial purposes with Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Due to the publicity connected with these ceremonies, I want them to be of decent authenticity without breaking the bank.

I am in unfamiliar territory here, as I regularly portray an enlisted man for my ACW impression. To date, I have not found a maker of authentic infantry trousers offer them with optional seam piping for the officer unless I missed something. I understand that officer's uniforms were privately purchased. Were officer's trousers cut differently than enlisted trousers? Did officers use enlisted trousers? What vendors out there offer correct trousers with piping (Stonybrook is vague on the subject)? Any information would be most helpful.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
