Though I have never seen the coat in questing, judging by the other coats I've seen from them it is my opinion that you are better off saving your money and buying a frock that is far superior in authnticity by way of construction and materials. Seeing this brings up the old line heard time and time again.....you get what you pay for.

I agree with Dan...Chase, do yourself a favor and check out the Approved AC vendors post that Paul just updated and the new banners are right here to click on for the best in Authentic clothing. Also click on Chris Daley's post about his Grand Opening in Gettysburg this weekend....

Like the other respondents said, save your money and buy something quality. Chris Daley has overcoats on sale in this month's Bully Buy. You can't go wrong there; I'll put my money where my mouth is - mine is on order!

Here is a great one by C.J. Daley. It costs more, but is well worth the effort. Best of all 10% goes to the S.C. Relic Room for preservation.

I just got me a C.S.A. Frock from Dan Wambaugh(W&W Company) and I just love it. The Blockade Runner frock is $190.00 and I paid $275.00 for mine. You would be better off to save another hundred dollars and get a great frock and know that you have gotten something that will be worth keeping. My two cents.

Being new to the AC Forum, it takes a little while to learn the ropes and culture here.

1. Please do not apologize as an excuse for having done something anyway.
2. "Hearsay" is usually worth exactly what one pays for it.
3. It is not what the 'hard cores think,' or what 'reenactors' say; it is how the reproduction compares to the original(s) in materials, patterns, and methods of construction. (Non-approved vendors, as a rule and as a class of suppliers to different segments of the CW Community, usually do not get past materials, patterns, and methods of construction. End of story.)

As shared, there are reasons there are Approved Vendors, and why they appear on the Approved Vendor List.

Please check the functioning and use of your keyboard for the "shift" button for capitalization, and "punctuation" buttons. (Unlike the looseness of IM, the AC Forum strives for scholarly discusion in content as well as form.)
