      Re: British Import Shirts

Thank you Mr. Semple for the head's up on the data sheets from the MOC. I am going to talk with Maryanne Zilley from EJ Thomas Mercantile who I work with producing some of their goods, and look into talking to Pat Kline. I know that she has had a longtime relationship with Pat over the years, so she knows how his contract weaving works. There does indeed look like there is some interest in this particular shirting, so I'll see what can be done here and keep everyone posted.

Just a coment on the MOC notes, they're not as detailed as the shirt demands. A number of years ago Ted Quednau and the Hogg Mess went to the MOC a number of times to inspect the original. Ted, if he is still them is making an accurate replica. He has detailed notes and has put those notes to cloth.

          Selden Shirt 3 hole buttons

This is a call to anyone who has been fortunate to have examined the Selden shirt & has precise dimensions of the 3 hole buttons. Kindly share the diameter, thickness, & exact placement of the button holes. Also, please share photo(s) showing button detail.

After a 2 year search, I can now have these 3 hole buttons reproduced in bone. The snag is, I don't have exact dimensions of the Selden shirt buttons. The prospect of travelling from Texas to Virginia to examine the Selden shirt isn't in the cards.

Thanks for your time & consideration.

            Re: British Import Shirts

Since there is no off the shelf pattern for the Selden shirt and the MOC notes would seem to be lacking, has anyone looked at the stitches in time shirt patterns?

One of the illustrated patterns included is labeled as a "Blockade" shirt that superficially resembles the Selden shirt. Perhaps this could be used along with the MOC notes to produce a passable recreation if, the appropriate fabric can be found.

                  Bryan,

Thanks for the link & company name correction. From a Google search, I couldn't find anything on the previous name.
