  • 45 buckles and plates

Jean, in British Columbia, posted on the other forum asking for someone knowledgeable. Apparently, 45 buckles and plates were an inherited collection. They were posted on e-bay to gauge interest, but Jean says they will be pulled shortly.

I know nothing about e-bay and even less about original buckles. May you who do jump in here? If these are inded originals, they look like quite a collection.

    Thanks.

Originals or not they would be a real deal. Considering that your average repro belt plate costs $12-15, and there are 50...that means to buy them all at sutler row would cost....between $600-750.

It would be real tough to place a value on such a collection without actually handling each plate. So many variables to consider such as makers marks, authenticity, box or belt plate, puppy paw or arrow hooks, matching keepers etc.. May be better to auction each one off by itself and put some good pictures and descriptions with each item.
