Hello pards,
I have decided that I want to pick up the ability of sewing. I have all of this great hand-sewn gear and want to give it a try myself. I have already sewn about 2 shirts and have copied some of the stiches that were in my other hand-sewn shirts but do not have a very good idea what the stiches are called or if I am doing them right. I would be much obliged if anyone would give me a list of stiches that would be good to know and the time to use each one. I know how to handsew button holes and the little things like that but would like to know all of the ones necessary to make an accurate shirt or jacket, both Federal and Confederate. I know I should start out on smaller items such as a shirt, but would still like to know other stiches for future reference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!
