    As we all know frock,and shells were quilted in the chest. but were there and sack coats ever done confederat,civilian,federal?

    Simple Answer--Yes

    Complicated Answer--What type of sack coat, jacket, and frock are you refering to. There are examples of each both quilted and unquilted. Honestly, no one can give you a more intellegent answer unless you refine your question.

    Were federal fatigue blouses quilted? No
    Were civilian sack coats quilted? Still needs refined.
    Were wool civilian sack coats quilted? Often
    Were "officer's" sack coats quilted? Often

    It would really help if you had a specific coat in mind. Then we could do a better job answering your question.
