  • Brown Trousers on Western Federals

    Pards,
Has anybody ever seen any documentation saying that western federals ever wore brown or "butternut" trousers? I've seen people do it but I question it's authenticity.

Re: Brown Trousers on Western Federals

    Hallo!

"Has anybody ever seen any documentation saying that western federals ever wore brown or "butternut" trousers? I've seen people do it but I question it's authenticity."

I am closing this one down before "it" starts.

Meaning, while it may be a remotely interesting question as to whether there is research/documentation that would show, or not show, that Federals wore brown trousers- (the dangers of using the word "ever" in CW Research aside)...
the "I've seen people do it but I question it's authenticity." part speaks to the valid taboo of never (universal use so noted) looking at what one sees at events as a basis for anything historical let alone worthy of copy without research and documentation.
