While I own a regular flat sided tin drum, I've been tring to find information on the "bullseye" CS embossed tin drum canteen. Regretably, my results so far have been lackluster at best. I wanted to know, for an AoT impression, is it appropriate to carry one, and if so, how late into the war would they have been present?

Re: Tin drum canteen
A fourm search for "canteen" will give you 414 threads on canteens. Should make some interesting reading for an afternoon or two.
If you want a short, quick answer the Sylvia and Mcdonnell book says that the CS drum canteens may have been manufactured in New Orleans and issued to local troops. Field recoveries and documented specimens are linked to the Shiloh/Corinth spring 1862 campaign.Jim Mayo
