With the ongoing interpretation of the Augusta Arsenal records, this has stumped me.

Entry #21
Invoice of ordnance stores turned over by Jno U Ansley M & K to
Col F. W. Hunter Bluff Springs Ala
No 55
Marks Col. F W Hunter Bluff Springs Ala
Contents
6 minnie rifle muskets
3 Carbines with bayonets
1 M i j Rifle
19 Double Barreled Shotguns
26 Cavalry Equipments
All of the equipment went to the 2nd Alabama Cavalry at Bluff Springs Ala.
1st question: What is a "minnie rifle musket'? Seems a contradiction in terms.
2nd question: What is a MIJ rifle? I have found no other references to this new species of animal.
Can you answer this o' Sultans of the saddle?
