    Here is a photo of a cool looking kepi. The bill is made of cloth. Have a look at the star on the top.



    I guess the use of the star was prevelent in many areas of the south. A friend of mine mentioned that him and his friends had dug quite a few star buttons in the East Tennessee.

    That's pretty unique. It reminds me somewhat of the Pvt. Bryant kepi of the 20th Tennessee "Hermitage Guards." The pic is shown on the cover and on the January spread of the 2004 Confederate Calendar. This kepi does not have unique trim or a star, but they seem to have the higher top that lay down like a forage cap would. Check out Confederate Calendar Works.
