For those of you who live in the DC area....I have Anthony Cohen
coming to my library to do a presentation on March 25th. The
presentation will be titled: "Patrick and Me", and is based on an
upcoming documentary film. It will recount the tale of Cohen's
ancestor, Patrick Sneed, who fled from bondage in 1849. Drawing from
his forbear's 1856 account, Cohen reconstructs the story of the
Georgia slave who was captured under the Fugitive Slave Act and later
went on to fight in the American Civil War.
If you are interested, just contact me, and I'll give you more
information on the location and time. My library is in Hyattsville,
MD, in Prince George's County, MD.
