The felling stitch can also be worked right to left, which is generally more comfortable for right-dominant stitchers.

In truth I also sew right to left, it's just that a number of pictures are flipped because as I'm sure you can tell my camera (and my iron) was acting up in a big way that day. Normally I like to take about five shots per step when I'm doing the instruction book for a kit, but that day I only took one or two and when I finished I found that they all came out rather fuzzy. Perhaps some day Paul will be willing to let me resubmit the article with some clearer shots. :)

I've never been exactly clear on what stitch to use for topstitching. How to do that might be a good tutorial as well.

Dan, you ought to leave the flipped pics, add the un-flipped, and just label the flipped ones, "Left-hand dominant sewists". :) I've had to learn to demonstrate most stitches ambidexterously, and the left-handed among us appreciate it greatly.

Once upon a time when I was still teaching Middle School home economics and basic hand stitching, I practiced and practiced until I could teach left handed as well as right handed. I wasn't as adept with my left hand, but I could have my students stand behind me to see how and what to do to make their stitches. I still have former students come up to me and thank me for teaching me how to mend a seam, sew a button, iron a shirt. Ahhh, the good old days!
