11th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry

I recently uncovered information about the 11th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, Company H (US) being stationed for a brief time at Fort Whipple in the Arizona Territory and was curious if there was anyone out there researching Missouri units who might have more information about them. They apparently came overland on the Sante Fe trail with the new Arizona governor's party in 1863.

I also found a source that suggests the Ninth Wisconsin Battery of Light Artillery was at Fort Union, New Mexico in 1862 and would be curious to learn more about them as well.

Organized at Burlington, Wis., and mustered in January 27, 1862. Moved to St. Louis, Mo., March 18-19, thence to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, April 3. March to Denver City, Colo., via Fort Kearney and Julesburg, April 26-June 2. Right Section moved to Fort Union, N.M., June 3. Left Section moved to Fort Larned June 15 and garrison duty there until December, 1864. Right Section moved to Colorado Territory July 5, 1862, and duty there with Centre Section until April 26, 1864, then moved to Council Grove, Kansas, April 26-May 18, and duty there until August, 1864. Engaged in escorting trains and U.S. mail coaches on the Santa Fe Road. Moved to Fort Riley, Kansas, August, 1864. Action at Smoky Hill Court House May 16, 1864.
