I was researching on the legendary Gun Long tom and wanted some opinions.
Its a fact it was nearly 18 feet long and accurate up to about 5 miles.
The Confederate army was the first to haul the gun to the top of the cumberland mountain in 1861. There was no action taken place during that time. So the pushed the gun off the cliff. Union General Morgan Had the gun taken to the top again in 1862 and had no ammo to fit the gun. but when the Confederate army Pushed the gun off in 1861 how was the gun still working after being pushed of a cliff 2000 feet above sea level.
Please give me your comments.
