Anyone for Queen Victoria's daughter's wedding cake from the Reconstruction Era (1871)?

Not period, but close to it... and it affects our time period's favorite queen.

I found it to be a rather cheap artifact. I wonder what the cake was made out of to preserve it. Also, Edward VIII wedding cake went on sale in recent years. It cost a pretty good penny.
