I just attended a great presentation here at work by our marine archeologist on the excavation of the USS Westfield which ran aground and was blown up during the Battle of Galveston January 1, 1863. It will take several years for all the artifacts to be conserved. Once done they will be on display in Texas City Texas where a special museum is being developed.
