I believe I saw something somewhere that related to this topic. I found this at the National Archives about two weeks ago. I thought it may be of interest to some. Words found in red are merely a guess. Enjoy!

I have rust browned (M1841 Rifle) and rust blued (m1860 Colt's Revolver and some MAXIM PM1910 internals).

The hardwood burnishing makes sense. I used 4 ought steel wool.

Leanrn't something today.

What the heck is "Dragons blood powder". Do I need to hire an Elf Ranger or a Half Orc Wizzard to get me some of that?

Hallo!

"Dragon's Blood" isw the old name for red resin obtained from a Asia plant. It was NUG sold in powdered formed and used in the days of homemade varnishes and lacquers for furniture and musical instrument makings (gives the varnish a reddish tint).
