    From the CW RRing group. Someone may have put these up before one of the Great Crashes, but in case you haven't seen them, here are drawings of both Union and Confederate rail guns. The Confederate one would be relatively easy to replicate if any event venue had an unused rail spur, but getting permission to use it would be almost impossible. Too bad. It sure would be impressive!

      Interesting material. There is an account of an engagement between Gen. Ben Grierson's federal cavalry division and small Confederate force defending the railroad and stores at Egypt, Mississippi Dec. 28, 1864. Officers' reports mention Capt. Houston King's Missouri Battery doing effective service from platform cars of a train, firing repeatedly into the charging columns of cavalry. In that instance, there seems to be no mention of armor.
