According to today's Wheeling Intelligencer, the state of West Virginia has allocated funds to catalog and post 100,000 newspaper pages over the next two years. The specifics on this morning's front page were rather vague, but access will be open, free and searchable. Culture and History says there will be a panel assembled (of whom? from where?) to judge which pages from which papers should go up first and what major events need to be represented.
Stay tuned. This is going to be interesting, and much easier to search and use without a trip to the library.
