I am trying to find documented evidence about the "Iowa Greyhounds." General Nathan Lyon gave the unit for Iowa the nick-name after it accomplished the feat of marching 48 miles in a 24 hour period. I have checked Foote, Catton, McPherson and others but cannot find evidence of this march.

    Sincerely,
