Christmas nights lent to good reading time, and I enjoyed reading: "Incident at the Otterville Station- A Civil War Story of Slavery and Rescue" by John Christgau, 2013, University of Nebraska Press. All about my boys from southeastern Minnesota, God bless them, and it is an easy 131 page read about one decision a small group of Union soldiers made at one moment in time. I read it and thought, what would I do? And, where is that family that was helped, if they survived, and are there descendants? So many split second and minute-by-minute decisions were made that changed entire lifetimes.
