C.S. attacks on U.S. supply lines in Tennesse and Georgia before and during the Chattanooga and Atlanta campaigns diverted hundreds of U.S. troops to defend its bridges, tunnels, and supply depots aswell as constantly rebuild bridges, replace torn up track and build blockhouses.
