  • Staunton Hill Artillery (VA) Capt Paris/Bruce Battery CSA

I am looking for more information on this unit. I have the Virginia Historical Society Unit History by J. Weaver. I also have a copy of the unit roster. My reasons are that my Great grandfather was a member of this unit. Although it was a Virginia Artillery unit mustered in March 1861. My Grandfather, Josiah Brightwell, Private, according to Weaver's history mustered in Feb 1862 and did continue on rosters until April 1865. He an 9 others did not surrender per se with Johnston in April 1865 at Greensboro, NC, but walked hom to Virgiinia. He took his oath at Campbell Court House, Campbell County Virginia, May, 1865. I would like to find more info than the bare facts I have recovered off the internet.
If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.
