  • Well Read???

If you were well read , here's a volume you'd be rather familar with

HISTORY of ALABAMA AND INCIDENTALLY OF GEORGIA AND MISSISSIPPI, FROM THE EARLIEST PERIOD.

    BY Albert James Pickett
Entered according to the act of Congress, by Albert James Pickett, on 27th January, 1851, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the United States for the Middle District of Alabama

In hard copy, a reprint of this volume will set you back about $65. Period copies can be located, as it was a popular history of the time. Its written in a potboiler style--all the men are handsome and brave, all the women are beautiful and brave, all the savages are grand and noble....., and its quite an exciting book. Starts with Desoto, ends with Alabama statehood.

You can tell its my favorite!

Yassir, I used to be Mrs. Lawson. I still run period dyepots, knit stuff, and cause trouble.
