  • Establishment of the Freedman's Bureau

Being that it is March 3, I thought I'd post some links regarding the Freedman's Bureau. It is on this date in 1865 that President Lincoln signed into action the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands (short-term, Freedman's Bureau). The program was abandoned in 1872.
