Gettysburg Question

I am wondering if anyone knows were the Eleventh NC Regiment at Gettsyburg and if so, where did they serve? In question the first July...
hope that makes sense.

As part of Pettigrew's Brigade of Heth's Devision, they were at Herr Ridge, from left to right and en echelon, 26 NC, 11th NC, 47 NC and 52 NC where they waited for the order to advanc towards Willoughby Run which was held by the Union Iron Brigade. When finally given the order to advance, they met head on with the 19th Indiana (which had the left flank of the Iron Brigade) and, with assistance of the 47th and 52nd NC which flanked them, collasped them and compelled them to retreat. As a result of the 19th Indiana's retreat, the flank of its sister regiment in the Iron Brigade, the 24th Michigan, was exposed and caused that unit to also break from its engagement against the 26th NC. The Federals were compelled to retreat and abandon Gettysburg. Pettigrew's men spent the night in Willoughby Run, tending to the wounded. For the most part of July 2nd, they rested and held their position at Willoughby Run. In the evening, they moved down towards Seminary Ridge where, on the next day (July 3rd), they participated in Pickett's Charge.

In that famous charge, they were up against the 14th Connecticut and 1st Delaware (Smyth's Brigade, Hay's Division, II Corps) and Arnold's Battery. In the three days of fighting, the 11th suffered 60% casualties.

I just picked up Bradley Gottfried's Maps of Gettysburg. It's like a companionvolume to his previous book, The Brigades of Gettysburg. The "Maps" is a definite must and you can track the 11th NC on several maps as it pushes back the Iron Brigade. Gottfried is to be commended for this long awaited book.
