  • Quarter Master 1861?

For the past two or three years I have been researching clothing that had been issued to Ohio regiments in 1861. I beleive I have just about covered everything there is to cover at the Ohio Archives. I decided to take a trip to the National Archives and found records referring to contractors in Ohio. Several contractors are listed who produced jackets, coats, pants, overcoats, socks, shirts, and the like. Each contractor listed shows what they made and quantity produced. Some records show that the items were purchased by a "Major A. Montgomery". The itmes were then transferred to a "Captain Ekin". Looking for information about these two individuals. Any information would greatly be appreciated. Clothing records are from August 1861 to December 1861.
