Re: Prince Amoung Slaves
YES!!! I watched it and it was great! and of course heart rending..I wonder tho when it was produced/ and if any other info regarding his family still left in Africa was found beyound the one shown? wonder what happened to his African wife and family??...this is what "Black history month' should be about IMO..my folks didnt have slaves, but if they did I'd try to search them out andinvite em to tha ole family reunioninvite them to the family reunion. I wonder if they envision a sequel? the material is there with the coresponding story of what his African family went thru.
Edit:
Emphasis mine. Lets avoid promoting stereotypes and/or mocking the imagined vernacular of former slaves. I'm not sure the family reunion sentiment is appropriate in any context.

that was/is MY "imagined vernacular" and if you dont not care for it you may go to....the devil ( and THATS a period way of saying it BTW)
are we the Princeton Gazette now?? (lifting my pinky finger as I sip):D
and why would it NOT be appropriate? I think it would be very interesting and perhaps even 'healing'? for the decendants of slaves and masters to break bread together! the only folks it wouldnt be appropriate for would be those who like to wear sheets!Gary Mitchell

Kindly take those comments to your own webspace - because its YOUR name associated with it and you're welcome to do whatever you wish under your own name on your own website. Take your picnic idea over there too.
I won't associate my name or the name of the AC with this imagined vernacular which mocks and is deeply hurtful to some of my dearest friends.
